Reviewing the Rimmel 25-Hour Breathable Foundation

Now that it’s spring, I have banished all my long-wear full-coverage foundations. Warm months are time to celebrate the free and easy beauty of natural skin. I’ve been doing a respectable job of adhering to my skincare routine, which has helped me feel better about my skin. All this coming together means it’s time to switch out my foundation for something much lighter coverage.

Earlier this year, Rimmel launched their newest liquid foundation, Lasting Finish 25-Hour Breathable Foundation. I have been into Rimmel foundations for many years now, because they are both reliable and low cost. This foundation is just the same. Coming in at under $10, plus being available nearly everywhere, makes it a great option when you just need to pick something up. It comes in 16 shades, but the unfortunate truth is that they only cater to the lighter end of the spectrum. There are a couple of darker shades, but it’s seriously lacking.

The foundation has a very thin consistency and a large doe foot applicator. I’d rather buy something with a pump, but I find the applicator to be efficient, if a little unsanitary. 25-hour wear? Yes. It stays on incredibly well and doesn’t budge. I will say that the smell is a little funky, but it doesn’t linger.

This foundation is the ultimate in no-foundation foundation. It stays on incredibly well, and truly looks like skin. It is also, as I mentioned, light-light coverage. It doesn’t cover blemishes, but it does an excellent job of evening out skin tone. As a normal (not oily or dry) skinned person without a ton of skin insecurities, it’s been a godsend. When you want to look a little more polished, but not look too made up, this is perfect.
