Spring 2019 FabFitFun Unboxing & Review

One of the subscription boxes that I love more than any other is my FabFitFun. It comes only once a quarter, (check out the past winter box!) so I feel like they hit it out of the park every time. This month I received the spring edition, and I am excited to say that it was awesome as always. Here's what was inside.

What Everyone Gets

There are a few items that no one gets any kind of choice about. The first is the Manna Kadar Champagne Charcoal Body Scrub ($24). I love a body scrub, and this one is nice. It doesn’t smell overly sweet, but more fruity. It scrubs well, but I was disappointed that there isn’t actually any charcoal in this “charcoal” scrub. Just black pigment. Whatever, Manna Kadar. That’s lame. I’ll use this up, but I wouldn’t have bought it ever.

The next item is the Ouai Leave-In Conditioner ($26). This is a product that I already use and love. I use this every time I wash my hair, while it’s still damp to define and moisturize my moderately curly (2B) hair. It also smells divine, like the beach and flowers all at the same time!

Everyone also receives the Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel ($42). Whew, that’s a long, excessively wordy name. This is a really fantastic eye gel that I have also used in the past. I don’t have undereye bags, really, but I do have dark circles and this makes a huge difference. Between this and the Ouai conditioner, the box was paid for, in my opinion.

Choices for All Members

In every box, there’s also some items that every subscriber gets to choose. The first of these choices was the Giadzy Copper Plated Measuring Spoons, Lavido Aromatic Body Lotion, or a Mystery Item. I didn’t like either of those items, so I elected for the Mystery. The mystery in this case was a combination primer/serum from Sahi Cosmetics ($32). It has niacinimide and hyaluronate to brighten up and plump the skin. This feels nice. I need to test it a little to see if it improves makeup wear time, but it’s delightfully moisturizing, and I’m happy with it.

The other item that all people got to choose was two different pairs of sunglasses from Quay Australia ($60, each), a picnic set from Sunnylife Lovers ($30), or the Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial ($44). I got a pair of sunglasses in My Girl. I think that they’re super cute, but Charles doesn’t. They are very large, but I think that they’re a nice shape, and fairly flattering. I’ll be wearing these through the spring and summer!

Another set of choices, all subscribers could pick from the Show Me Your Mumu Brie Robe ($84), Deux Lux Demi Backpack ($75), or the Unplug Meditation Aromatherapy Diffuser (came with essential oils, $55). For me, the answer was really simple. The robe was the best choice. The backpack looked flimsy, and many aromatherapy diffuser oils are not safe for use around pets. The robe is also a pretty pink and white one, which will be perfect for my wedding this summer! It is also knee length in the back for great ass-coverage, but is a little thin. It fits my needs though!

Choices for Annual Members

If you’re a “select” (annual subscription) member, you get to choose even more things! If you’re not, one just gets sent to you. The first thing I chose was the Tula Purifying Face Cleanser ($28). Tula is one of those brands that gets hyped up by bloggers and on Instagram like crazy, so I figured that this was a great time to give it a try. This is a gentle, but very effective cleanser. I think that it being “probiotic” is a gimmick, but I like it! I’m glad I tried it, and am interested in trying more from this brand. The other options were the Daily Concepts Daily Detox Body Brush ($18), or the Eleven by Venus Jump Rope ($15).

The other item thatannual subscribers could choose was your selection of a S’ip by S’well Water Bottle ($20), Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Setting Powder ($22)., or a bar necklace from The 2Bandits ($30). This was another easy one. I picked the one I would get the most use out of, which was the water bottle. I already have a couple, and I love them, so it was a no brainer.

That's my whole box! The total retail value of my box was $316, and I didn’t have the most expensive choices. This was really great, and full of things that I am actively using and happy with, If you're interested, you can pick one up here. The box retails for $49.99 a quarter, and cheaper if you purchase an annual subscription. That link gives me no kickback but will get you $10 off your first box! It also makes a great gift!
