Repairing Damaged Hair with Hask

My hair is very rarely what I would consider to be healthy. It may look healthy, but that’s more about using products to mask my split ends and dullness than having great hair. I’ve tried loads of haircare products, and the amount I enjoy them is directly related to how good they are at covering up my hair insecurities. When I first cut nine inches of hair off, my hair was much healthier because it was new. I had cut off all of the old dry unmanageable ends and was only left with nice shiny fresh hair.
A few weeks later, the split ends were back. It didn’t matter how well I protected my hair from heat, or how many deep conditioners I used…it wasn’t fixing, just hiding.

I have been using Hask hair products for the past few months, and they’re very good at covering up my problems. The Mint Almond line was so good at giving my damaged, limp hair some volume, but ultimately didn’t solve my problem. Hask has very generously asked if I would review a different line from their brand, this time containing their star ingredient, Bamboo Oil.

Introducing Bamboo Oil from Hask. I received four products: shampoo, conditioner, strengthing deep conditioner, and strengthening shine hair oil. All four are designed to work together to reinforce and nourish damaged hair. Since I started using this line, I finally feel like I am doing something to prevent any further damaged. Pair that with regular trims, and I’m feel like my hair is on the mend.
I start my haircare routine with the shampoo and conditioner. They are both richly creamy, unlike the clear-ish Mint Almond line. Once a week, I use the deep conditioning mask to ensure my hair is getting all of the moisture it needs. It is very heavy, so it’s too much for my hair every day, but once a week is perfect.

We have all heard that we should wash our hair less. On second and third day hair, I turn to my good friend, dry shampoo. But while my roots get oilier, my ends get drier. Instead of falling back on my old friend, the fun bun, this is where the oil comes in. I can dry shampoo my roots to my heart’s content, and then apply a little bit of Strengthening Shine Hair Oil to my ends to freshen them up. Boom. Back to first day hair.

I will say that this whole line is very heavy. It’s rich, creamy, and applies moisture like no other. I think it might be a problem for those of you with fine hair. My hair never gets that squeaky clean, nearly stripped down feel. It’s always very moist. I have thick, curly, difficult hair, and I find this amazing for that, but even so, after a couple of weeks of use, I need to use a clarifying shampoo.

Overall, I am so impressed. My job is very much an outdoor one, and I feel like my hair has been safely protected by this line. If you’re feeling similar concerns, I definitely recommend Hask. Even though this blog post contains press samples, I can honestly say that I love everything I’ve tried so far. Definitely give it a shot the next time you’re out at Target or your local retailer, or by visiting their website here.
