Review | Nudestix Metallic Berry Set

When I had my birthday back in May, I went ahead and got a whole bunch of new things from Sephora and Ulta. I went nuts with it if we’re being honest. Well, maybe my definition of nuts. I spent less than $150, which is still a lot of cash for me.

One thing that I ordered that I was excited about was the Nudestix Nude Metallic Berry Eye 3 Piece Kit ($25). This set is three Magnetic Eye Pencils, two luminous, and one matte. The three colors are called Praia (a shimmering champagne gold), Rustic Grotto (luminous brown), and Maroon’d (matte red-brown). It’s available at Ulta and through the Nudestix website.

The Good

These come with their little sharpener which does a great job of keeping them pointy without any waste. These also just glide on. The color payoff is rich and beautiful, and you have a few seconds before they set down to blend them out. Once they set down, they do not budge. They are in for the day, and possibly the whole night. I could only get these off with a serious oil-based remover. It’s great if you have oily lids or a hot summer on the way. I love the formula of these.

The Bad

These are sharpener only, and I prefer twist-ups, just for convenience. It’s a hassle to have to remember to pack a sharpener when traveling as well..she says, as though anyone is seriously considering travel just now. I also was disappointed in the actual color choices, just due to the advertising, mostly. These are advertised as a berry, but they aren’t. They’re just brown. It’s champagne gold, and then two browns. I like wearing red tones on my eyes, and this wasn’t it. I’ll keep using them because the formula is great, but if you’re looking for a berry tone, look again.

Do you like eyeshadow sticks, or are you only into pans?
