Spring 2019 Skincare Favorites

It’s springtime in Montana, and change is in the air. Today was a whopping 41 degrees, and I can finally feel like the snow is on its way out. Don’t get me wrong, it snowed four more inches overnight last night, but it’s also warm enough to melt! Either way, I’m not complaining! My skin is also finally starting to perk up. I have naturally dry skin on a normal day, but the bitterly cold, dry wind of central Montana makes it nearly unbearable. As much fun as it’s been slathering my whole body in oil-based moisturizers, I’m excited to lighten it up. I thought that today, in honor of spring, we could go nuts and take a look at my five favorite springtime skincare products.

Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

This smells tropical and fruity and fun. This is a non-abrasive cream exfoliator, and I end up using it about once a week. This tends to give me that “I woke up like this” good skin day. Since I started working this into my routine, I’ve noticed my foundation goes on smoother and I get considerably more compliments on my skin. It also makes me feel like a fancy British lady when I use it.

Vasanti Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

I love a good physical exfoliant. I know that this is a controversial thing, but I love that feeling of my skin being refreshed after a good scrub. This product is so effective, but also fairly gentle. It’s a cult classic, and I think that it’s totally deserved. My skin feels clean and new, but not dry.

Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion

This is my day-to-day moisturizer. It sinks in quickly and makes my skin look super radiant. IT is also (like most Murad products) meant to be anti-acne. I don’t have a ton of blemishes, and never have. I was one of those super super lucky people who completely missed it. If I feel a pimple coming on, I do think that this stops it dead, but it’s also a great daily lotion to use too.

Fresh Rose Face Mask

I really like this mask for a light boost of moisture. It is on the lighter side, so during the winter it’s just not enough. Now that spring is here, it works so well for what I need. In the morning, I can put this on while I do my hair, then rinse it off and do my makeup. It has a really pleasant jelly consistency, and also has real pieces of rose in it for a boost of vitamin C-driven brightness.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C Oil

I’ve been using Vitamin C Serums for about five years. I struggle with dark spots. Any time I get a little blemish, it will turn dark and stay there for forever. I have noticed that vitamin C evens my skin tone better than anything else. When I got it, I figured it would be like every other vitamin C serum I've tried. It's fine, but not exceptional. NOPE. This is the best vitamin C serum on the market, I am sure. It sinks in and moisturizes without feeling oily. I have also noticed a dramatic difference in my dark spots fading. My skin looks brighter and healthier and I don’t know if I’ll ever top it.

That’s what I’ve been loving these days, and will certainly be using them until we hit the height of summer. I’m spending a ton of time on my skincare with the wedding coming up and I’m really happy with how things are looking!
