November Favorites

November's gone. It's just gone. Thanksgiving came and went in a food coma and now it's December. Let's shoot through the things I loved this month.

Beauty

Beauty Blender

I refused to buy one of these for the longest time because I thought it was just a sponge and not special. I was kind of peer pressured into it by the sales girl, but it was totally worth it. Flawless foundation, every time, with minimal effort. I couldn't believe the difference it made. If you're on the fence about it, do it. It's that good.

Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer

I have been a devotee of Urban Decay Primer Potion for just about forever. I received this sample in a gift bag from an event I went to and let it sit in the back of my stash until recently. I'd have to do a test to say for sure, but I feel like this is better than UDPP by a long shot. It's thick and creamy and makes my eyeshadow colors so vibrant. And they stay on. They stay on all day. 24 hours is a little dramatic, but definitely an entire work day followed by post-work cocktails.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

Another product I've been avoiding. I have liquid liner problems. I would rather just not do it. I really need to practice but never do. Everything also slides straight off my lids even with a primer. Not this one! I took a major risk and wore this one out all night (8 hours!) the first time I tried it. It was perfect. Stood up through everything. If you need a liner that will not budge this is it. The brush tip is also extra fine for a precise wing. The cap also snaps on with a satisfying click so it doesn't dry out. Love love love.

Red Lips

To go with my classic winged liner (Thanks Kat Von D) I've been doing a nice red lip. My two favorites this month are an old and a new. I still love my MAC Viva Glam Rihanna, but the J Cat Lip Paint I received last month is really growing on me. Wear it all of the days!

Keep Me Warm by The Little Estate

Yeah, it's the song from the McDonald's commercial. It's super catchy and great for listening to on the snowy drives to work.

The Theory of Everything

I was really looking forward to this film. It's about Stephen Hawking's first marriage. It's wonderful. The cinematography is beautiful. I cried. I took forever to make it to theaters here, but it was well worth the wait. This one is going to be an Oscar contender for sure. As a warning, it's not cheery. It's definitely not smiles as you leave the theater, but both my date and I really loved it. Eddie Redmayne deserves some awards for so accurately portraying an awful illness, but Felicity Jones deserves more because she's an excellent actress.
