Candytopia

As we started our spring break vacation, we had arranged for Charles and his groomsmen to have the first fitting for their wedding suits at the Mall of America in Minneapolis after we had flown in. The first time that we could get fit in to their schedule was at 1pm. Well, the flight gets in at 8:30, so what do we do?

Luckily, it’s incredibly easy to kill a few hours at MOA. Between their events and million stores, its easy. While I was planning out how we’d spend our time, I came across Candytopia.

Candytopia describes itself as

What if an eccentric chocolatier and a daredevil pop star had a whirlwind romance, got married while skydiving, and had a glamorous, glittering love child who grew up to rule a small nation?  Welcome to Candytopia, where colossal candyfloss constructions meld with a tantalizing taffy twistedness!

This sounded like a party, so I booked tickets. The website promised candy samples, swimming in marshmallows, and confetti. Yes. Please. It’s half experience, half art exhibition. It really is one of those Instagram-setup type things, where the whole idea is just to go and take photos. Which…we did. Of course. I will let the photos speak for themselves! Candytopia is a limited engagement, and only runs in Minneapolis until June 30th. It is also currently running in Atlanta, and also starting soon in Dallas Fort Worth! Tickets are $28 per adult…and totally worth it.
