Holiday Gift Guide: For Dad
Of all the people that I need to shop for during the holidays, my dad is by far the most difficult. Every year, I try to get him something that he’ll love, and every year, I feel like the answers are all pretty simple. He likes food, tools, and office supplies. You’ll see much of this on this list.
Here are some ideas about what I thought my dad would like this holiday season.
Snacks are always a great gift. These are a little more elevated with a beer or whiskey coating, but still delicious.
My dad is the kind of guy with a notebook in his pocket. These are the perfect size and have a durable cover and spine stitching for getting knocked around.
There is something really special about a luxury pen. This isn’t your typical Pilot G2. It’s got a gorgeous chrome finish, and retails for around $100. They’re refillable and pretty. It’s the kind of thing you want to bring along to important meetings or to like, sign off on your first home or a big new job.
This is a really unique gift. It’s an online course on how to create your own iPhone app. For someone who is pretty tech-y, and wanting to try something new, I think this could be a really interesting idea.
These are a classic. They’re easy, and everyone should own a classic pair of sunglasses. Ray-Bans are the gold standard, and the traditional wayfarer design is flattering on everyone.
I think that this would be a nice gift or stocking stuffer for an office dweller who is still a little bit fun. Also, Lego are really cool.
I usually get dad (or Charles) a book for Christmas, and this one is interesting. It’s a book that becomes a planetarium, among other things! It’s a change from the usual spy novel, and would make a great conversation place.
What are you getting your dad this year?
