It's Fall Good - Sephora Play September 2017

Sephora is continuing to kill it with box themes and products that I am excited for and interested in. This month the theme is Change of Face for fall. The box is totally full of items that are designed to help the transition between summer and fall. I recently put up a blog post about how I'm handling the change, so this is just making that switch easier.

As per usual, there are five items, plus a perfume sample. Each box also comes with a Play! Pass, which you can redeem for a one-on-one tutorial in-store, plus 50 bonus Sephora points. I no longer live within three hours of a Sephora, so that is kind of wasted on me.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel - $

Volumizing, water-resistant fiber gel mimcs the look of real hair to create thick lush-looking brows.

It's so teeeny! This is the Gimme Brow for ants! I loooove Gimme Brow though. It's been the product that I buy and use up, then don't replace, then pick up a ffew months later and wonder why I didn't repurchase it immediately. I lightened my hair a little, so the deep shade (I received shade 5) is a little dark for me, but not in a suepr obvious way. I've been pairing this with my regular brow pencil, which is a little lighter, so it's workign great for me. If you want to get the world's best brows, Beneift 100% has you covered I love the original beauty blender. I don't think that I really need this. I could get by with just the normal beautyblender. Now that I have this, I'm using it, but I wuldn't spend my hard-earned dollars on it. I don't think that you should spend your hard earned dollars on it either. Instead, I'd go with the regular-sized beautyblender and skip this.

Would purchase? No.

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil in Black Lace - $8.00

Creamy, easy-to-apply pencil with a long-lasting, waterproof formula that glides on smoothly.

Eyeliner. The most important thing is the ability for it to stay put. This one does stay on. The tip is a little wide and clunky for drawing on wings, and it dries to fast to really smudge, but I have been loving this for tightlining. My job is a little too conservative for me to have a crazy smoky eye every day, but this works really well for that.

Would repurchase? Yes, but only for tightlinign.

DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask - $9 (wtf)

Deep-conditioning mask cares for curly or wavy hair and infuses it with moisture for soft, frizz-free hair.

I really like DevaCurl. I am a fan of all of things that they do for curly hair. I didn' realize that matcha had butter...I still don't think it does, but for a hair mask, this works. My hair is noticeably softer and feels healthy, despite being in need of a haircut. My one complaint is that the sample size is small for someone with a lot of hair. You need a lot, and this sample, although it looks big, only gave me one use ot make my decision on.

Would repurchase: Yes.

Ciate London Liquid Velvet Moisturizing Matte Liquid Lipstick in Diva – $

Vibrant ultra-moisturizing ip formula in a universally flattering berry shade that stays put.

Everything about that description is a lie. Okay, so it might by vibrant. They can have that one. Ultra moisturizing? No. Not at all. It's also not a berry shade. It's bright red. Usually I would love this,. I love liquid lipstick and red! But that last claim -- stays put. NOPE. It transfers everywhere, even aft4er setting and blotting. It still slides all over the place. I am never going to use this again. Not ever. I don't even want to regift it, that's how bad it is.

Would repurchase? Never, ever.

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream - $

Lightweight daily cream deeply moisturizes to help prevent visible signs of aging.

This smells like cucumbers. I like it. I don't know if I like it to the full extent of its pricetag, but I like it. I've been using it once a day underneath my makeup and it's been great. It provides a moisturized base. It's naturally very dry in Montana, as well as starting to get cold at night, so this is helping to keep the flakies away.

Would repurchase? Probably not at that price, but it's a quality product.

Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Oil

A nourishing blend that mimcs your hair's natural oils for smooth, shiny, healthy and hydrated-feeling strands.

Switching it up this month, I didn't get a perfume, I got a foil packet for a hair oil. I like the change. I know a lot of people fon't like or can't use the perfumes, so it's a nice switch. I didn't particularly care of rhtis oil. It's heavily scented and made my hair look unnecessarily greasy. Still, happy I tried it out. Living Proof is a good brand and I was excited to get a chance at trying it.

Would repurchase? No.

I'm still impressed with this box. The only thing that was a solid no for me was the lipstick. I saw some of the other boxes going around and I'm super jealous of their lip products...because this was awful. Otherwise, all winners.
