Barkbox | August 2015

We’re coming up on Biscuit’s birthday, and it’s becoming more and more obvous what a spoiled little girl. So it’s time for another BarkBox. This month had another adorable theme, in this case Summer Jams, where everything was picnic appropriate.

Butcher’s Block LLC Beef Pizzle
We already feed these to Biscuit, although from another brand, so this was a total no-brainer. Our routine with her is to get up early, take her out, and then go back to bed while she chews on one of these (or some other long-lasting treat).
$3

Wagatha’s Maple Bacon Dog Biscuits
There wasn’t anything wrong with these other than the price. It’s a fairly small box, and my dog (who eats her own poop sometimes) really doesn’t need anything to be certified organic. She ate these, and liked them, but I wouldn’t buy them.
$9

The Crump Group, Inc. Beef Tendersticks
What part of the beef is the tenderstick? It’s the lung, surprisingly. These smell horrible, but she loves them. They’re crunchy, and break apart like puppy potato chips. Ick.
$8

Simply Fido Hot Dog
This is adorable. It’s a plush hotdog, with a squeak in the middle, plus the rope for tugging. It’s so cute, and the dog likes it. It’s about average in terms of durability, and has been holding up pretty okay.
$11

Delca Corporation Watermelon
This is another totally adorable toy, unfortunately, it’s just not durable. It made it ten minutes before it got it’s first tear in it. It’s a shame because Biscuit loves soft toys, but she’s too destructible for them.
$11

I really like getting BarkBoxes, but the toys are really proving to be less than adequately durable for my energetic puppy. I’m not sure about cutting them loose, but I’m going to be thinking about it a little harder.

If you’re interested in trying BarkBox, and possibly have a smaller (or calmer) dog, check it out here.If you order using that link, you will get your first box free, and a box will be donated to a dog in a shelter. Win-win.

Do you spoil your pets? What are their favorite things?
