ColourPop Fall Edit Swatches

I recently picked up the ColourPop Zingara Super Shock Shadow Collection. I saw it the second that it came out on their Instagram and snapped it up that day. I posted about trying out their Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks a few months ago, but that was the only product I had tried from them.

The super shock shadows are…strange. It’s difficult to describe the texture of these shadows. They are halfway between a powder and a cream. It says that they’re a cream formula and that’s definitely true. The texture is unlike any shadows that I’ve ever tried. They’re light and fluffy and wonderful to swatch. This does translate to some differences in applying compared to traditional shadows.

The website recommends applying it with a finger or a synthetic brush, so I have been sticking to that when I have been applying them. I really prefer the pigmentation that using fingers give, but I know that’s not something that everyone likes to do.

The Zingara set comes with four shadows: Jinxie, Paradox, Elixir, and Seeker. There were a couple of sets that I had my eye on, but I chose this one for the fall-themed shades.

  • Jinxie is a pearlized soft gold eyeshadow.
  • Paradox is a satin deep berry, nearly burgundy shade.
  • Elixir is a matte, warm rusty orange.
  • The last shade, Seeker, is a matte warm brown.

Of these, Paradox is my favorite. I have been searching for a quality red eyeshadow (weird, I know) to wear for fall, and I love that now I have it. The search has finally ended.

I love the wear time on these, and if you can get past their quirky application needs, they will stay on all day. They are crazy pigmented too, but less so if you use a brush rather than a finger. I’m 100% sold, and you will be seeing these in some fall looks soon!

Zingara retails for $18, and is found here
