Most Worn Lipsticks - Spring/Summer 2017

Most Worn Lipsticks - Spring/Summer 2017

It’s summer now, right? I’ve been pulling away from the muted and vampy colors of winter, and jumping straight into my favorite spring tones. Here are my five favorite lipsticks that I have been and will keep wearing all summer long.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Instigator

On the Colourpop website, this is described as a “nude peach”. I don’t’ really think that’s accurate. It’s more 100% peach. Like many of the Colourpop lippies, it dries darker than in the tube. A lot of people complain about how dry the Colourpop Ultra Mattes make their lips, but I don't find that to be true at all. The price point on these also can’t be beat.

Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Birthday Suit

This was the Sephora birthday gift this year, and I have been wearing it nonstop since I picked it up. It’s a darker color for summer, but I like to wear something a little vampy-er when I’m going out at night or to a nice dinner. This mid-toned pink-brown is identical in formula to the NYX Matte Lip Cremes, so if you want to try it out without the investment, I would check those out.

MAC Lipstick in Hot Gossip

Hot Gossip is one of my favorite MAC lipsticks. It’s not new by any means, but it’s still been one of my favorites for years. It’s a medium pink-plum in the classic cremesheen finish. The reason I like this is that I don’t have to worry about the rest of my makeup. It will match. It also does have a sheen, but isn’t glittery or too outrageous looking.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette

Bachelorette is a vibrant red-pink, and the brighter tone makes it very appropriate for spring and summer. The formula is creamy, but will be a matte, transfer-proof stain in seconds. It’s already fully opaque, so I like being able to set it and forget it. I get lots of compliments on this one, and I never must worry about it smudging off, even through eating and drinking.

Milani Lipstick in Nude Crème

This nude crème lipstick is the perfect “got nothing on” shade for me. It looks wonderful with a full face, or with hardly any makeup. It’s also very wearable and budget friendly. If this isn’t your shade, they have dozens more available as well.

Those are the lipsticks that I’m loving right now, and the five lipsticks that I packed to come with me for our Europe trip.

What are your favorites for spring and summer?
