Last week, I posted an Ulta haul. Now, a couple of weeks after the purchase, I have some thougths about what was worth the money, and what wasn’t.
Becca Glow on the Go
This was my first foray into the Becca highlighters. I had previously swatched Champagne Pop and decided against it (too dark…sorry, it’s not suitable for every skin tone), but this included the lighter, golden toned Opal shade. I love this little kit, but of the pressed powder, or the liquid, I would pick the liquid. The shimmer is generally more even and less patchy, but either is great.
Real Techniques Brush Sets
A thousand times, worth the money. Of the new ones that I got, I have been loving the flat-topped buffing brush, and then pointed foundation brush. But they’re all great. They can’t go wrong.
Ardell Demi Whispies Lashes Twin Pack
Again, another favorite. I have bought these many times over, and love the way that they look.
Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean
I have been enjoying this. It’s in roughly the same price range as my usual cleanser, and a huge size. It’s also very gentle, while still taking off all of my makeup. It doesn’t make my skin feel dry or tight either. Another good pick.
Foreo Luna Play
This one was…iffy. I definitely feel like it helps my cleanser get deeper into my skin. Taking off my makeup is faster with this, but I haven’t seen a difference in my skin texture or breakouts. I’ll keep using it, and hopefully in another few weeks, I’ll be able to say that it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to my skin.
Orly Breathable Nail Varnish in TLC
Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
This was a fail for me. It didn’t do much for me. It stays on for a long time, but it takes many, many coats to get the effect that I like. I know that some mascaras need to be open and dry out for a while to be their best, so I’ll wait a while and try again.
Overall, a good haul, I think. It’s mostly great, but not 100%. Can’t win them all! What are your favorite new products that you’ve picked up?
